Brianne Danter grew up south of Detroit in her hometown of Windsor, Ontario, the oldest of 6 siblings. Her parents, Brian and Lynn Danter, worship pastored in a large local church for 30+ years, using their gifts of music and songwriting to influence their community for God. Most of Brianne’s siblings regularly sing and lead worship with the family as well. From her parents, Brianne would learn the heart of humbly leading people to an intimate place with the Holy Spirit while not being afraid to be herself as a musician and worshipper

Brianne started playing piano when she was just 7 years old, using her mom’s keyboard (the very same keyboard that is primarily used in the recordings for Follow). While she explored the effects, percussion, synths, and drumbeats, she was unaware that she was taking her first steps to becoming a composer.

Meanwhile, her parents taught her more than performance techniques. They instructed her never to compete with others—“Don’t be threatened by other musicians, but always encourage others in their gifts. You are in competition with no one but yourself.” Brian Danter encouraged his kids to work on their skills and treat each time they played music as if it was their last—“So have the joy of the Lord and be unashamed!” Lynn reminded the family that worship is more than music: it's a way of lovingly living and helping others, so who you are off stage is more important than who you are on stage.

Brianne started singing publicly at the age of 13, when her church-school principal asked her to sing in front of the whole congregation. She was reluctant, but her principal insisted that she was capable of doing it. Struggling with doubt and fear that Sunday, she did the only thing she could do—she prayed, then stepped out on stage. A boldness and strong sense of God's presence rose up

within her, and from that point on she knew that music was what she was called to.

Playing music and leading worship in the years that followed, Brianne wanted to put out a record of her own but felt too afraid to show people her music. The fear that felt so real when she stepped out on stage at 13 revisited—but it never stopped her from writing and recording. She would spend hours and hours, year after year, writing and mastering songs without showing anyone. Old-school style, she recorded songs on a machine that used zip and floppy disks—that’s right, this girl who is known for representing the 80s and 90s in her presence, her style, and her dancy music vibes literally rocked the floppy disk!

Over the past 5 or 6 years, Brianne has worked at churches and been deeply involved in bringing together the youth and young adult communities through worship and music. She is currently a Worship & Student Pastor at Lakeshore St. Andrews near Windsor, Ontario. In that time, her long-standing dream of producing a record has come to pass. The release date for Follow has been set, and she’s ready to share the music that runs through her mind, into her fingers, and out through her piano, along with the lyrics that so strongly express her heart. After a time of waiting and trusting God, she has seen God turn things around in the past few years. Doors that always seemed to slam in her face or shut at the wrong time have opened wide, and she now finds herself in places she never expected or imagined.

Brianne’s story is one of passion and courage in the face of fear. It’s a story of talent and persistence. But most of all, it’s a story of trust—trusting in God with all things, even in the midst of doubt or uncertainty.
